Holly Springs, NC

We arrived with a big, warm welcome from our friends, the Dobys! We are staying here two nights.
I was teased with the amount of luggage I had, but anyone that know me, know I don't travel light. But I did think I was travelling for this trip.
If you go to Durham, NC ( or near there) you should go to the Museum of Life and
Science Museum of Durham. It was FABULOUS! It was one of the best childrens museum I have ever been too. We did the lab where the kids learned about hurricanes. They traced dots on a map that was the path of big hurricanes in the past, then we made structures out of toothpicks and marshmallows, then we tested our structures to see if they would withstand hurricane winds using a household fan. Very informative and fun! Grace love the butterfly exhibit and the steel drums. Ryan hated the bug, exhibit. In fact, I have never seen him scream and jump into my arms like that.
They have had a great time having a sleepover and playing with their friends. Of course, my friend, has such a gracious host and a joy to spend time with. I miss her and wished she lived closer to me. ( Do you see the tears welling up in my eyes).
This morning Grace stroked my hair again and said " I lub you" as if to wake me up. I told her that we were going to a hotel today and she said "woohoo". This girl is her mama made over, she loves going to hotels. Then she followed that with Mickey's boat. Ever since we went on a Disney cruise in January, she has been asking to go on Mickey's boat on a WEEKLY basis.

My second recommendation if you are in the area is, Mad Hatter Cafe. It was awesome. They use organic and locally grown foods. I wish we had one near us, we would go on a regular basis. They also, have really nice people that work there.
Now, here is where I am being authentic. I had a bad mommy moment today. Grace is newly potty trained and still using diapers when sleeping. I totally forgot to bring extra clothes for her OR put her in a pull up in the car. So, she fell asleep on the drive to the museum and yes, went to the bathroom in her seat. Now to my defense, I didn't realize we would be driving as long as we did to get to the museum. But still there we are, ill prepared for this dilemma. so I prayed that the restroom would have on of those dryers to dry your hand and.....score, they did! As my friend took the rest of the kids to play, Grace and I was and tried here pants. Many a mom came through the restroom and gave me that I feel for you look. I promise, we are putting an extra pair of clothers in the trunk.
