the calvery arrives!

Today, Nana arrives to come join us. The kids are beyond excited.  After we get Nana we enjoy a picnic at the hotel gazebo then a short nap. I love naps! Then we went out to Pirates Cove to play golf. And Ryan got TWO whole in ones and little Grace got one whole in one. That Wii Golf must be helping! :)
Afterwards we went to a seafood restaurant for dinner. It was yummy.

ARRRRR Matey!

Whole in ONE!

On the Road Again!

After a great visit with our friends, we loaded up and headed north to Virginia. I am thankful for my GPS but I have to say, I thought it was playing a trick on me when I left their house and headed on my way. It would say take this road for ____ miles then turn left onto HWY 70, go ____ miles and turn right onto HWY 70. After about five times of this , I thought, "am I going in circles?" But alas, I was not. That most be the longest winding highway in the east. If you are ever travelling north on 85 between N.Carolina and Virginia make sure you fill up with gas. For about 2 hours, I saw nothing but trees. The Virginia travel center was awesome. It had lots of maps and books and coupons for Virginia and a playground.
Here is a picture of a place I passed. This is for my friends, The Kemps.

We arrived to our Marriott hotel about 4pm and was excited to get unpacked and head to the pool. After unpacking we, we started to head out our patio door, only to see a bunch of glass fall off the door into the grass. Of course, I thought Ryan had done something, until I pulled back the curtain on that side and the whole side was shattered. After a call to the front desk, they moved us to the room next door, so we packed up in our swimsuits and then headed next door to our new room. Afterwards, we went to the pool. The kids loved it because it was an indoor/outdoor pool and you could swim between. Afterwards, I put the kids into the shower of with their swimsuits and started to unpack. Then I found our faucet wasn't working, it would spray all over the place when you turned it on. After another call to the front desk, we moved again. This time to a suite! So, I told the kids, we are moving again! I wrapped them in towels and we moved again in our swimsuits. It was quite challenging but we survived.
The kids are loving the adventure.
Tomorrow we go get the Nana at the airport, as she joins the adventure.
